What We Do

  • Research SPC archival records and update SPC historical narratives
  • Connect with the work of the Equal Justice Initiative (https://eji.org) and founder Bryan Stevenson; partner with local NAACP and other organizations in an EJI-inspired Community Remembrance Project researching and educating about terror lynchings in the Eastern Panhandle (https://www.berkeleycountywvnaacp.com/single-project)
  • Partner with the Adult Education Committee in Sunday Seminar study on topics including ‘Conversations about Race, Privilege and Faith’
  • Join with local partners such as Shepherd University’s Center for Appalachian Studies to support justice-driven events open to the community:
